hooded
The hooded pitcher plant is a native of South East United States. Its extraordinary pitchers have translucent spots that are believed to aid in the capture of flying insects; the bugs fly toward the light, hit the back and fall in! The older bulbous pitchers lay down to make little bridges that lure ants with nectar. Sweet!
