Plant Care
Carnivorous plants are easy and rewarding! They make great container plants or landscape plants. You can even put them in a water feature.
A bog garden is the easiest way to grow native pitcher plant, sundew and venus flytrap. Its very low maintenance and the plants have plenty of room to grow without being re-potted. You will be the envy of your neighborhood! The plants are cold-hardy to zero degrees Fahrenheit when they’re in the ground. If the weatherman says its going to get near zero then toss some pine needles on your bog! Click HERE for great tips on how to make your own bog garden.
Growing carnivorous plants in pots is really easy too. Choose a plastic or glazed ceramic pot with enough room for them to grow; their roots don’t like to touch the sides. Plant them in 100% peat moss. Then put your new dish garden in a sunny spot and keep it moist. A good idea for low-maintenance watering is to place the pot in a deep dish with standing water halfway up.
